EX-MANCHESTER United striker Louis Saha has advised Zambian young players to have the self-belief and passion to succeed in their international career.
Saha who is in Zambia as brand ambassador for the Chivas Regal in partnership with Manchester United said players needed to respect the contracts signed with the clubs and make it a duty to perform exceptionally well.
“Young players need to first respect the contracts signed, it’s like a duty which you have to perform. Secondly you need to have the self-belief, have the confidence that you can do, which is very important. But that confidence should be coupled with passion,” he said.
He also hinted on setting up an academy in Zambia to help develop talent.
“I had a chat with one of the academies I visited to find out the procedure, or how it’s done. I would want to set up a business or academy to help develop kids’ talent,” Saha said.
And Chivas head of Pan African Campaigns Hlukani Pinto said the brand decided to partner with Manchester United legends to give their clients a life style experience through soccer.
Saha, 41, is a former France national team striker and also played for Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.
