FRA acts to curb COVID-19

By BENNIE MUNDANDO
THE Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has urged clients to utilize digital online services such as emails as a primary mode of transacting and only visit offices when it is extremely necessary.
This is in a bid to help curb the spread of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Public Relations Coordinator, John Chipandwe, yesterday said clients should desist from making physical movements to FRA premises in order to help curb the spread of the COVID 19.
Mr Chipandwe said the FRA had also established a task force to monitor the adherence of all staff to COVID 19 guidelines.
“Further, all members of staff have been urged to use emails and telephones to communicate and share information in electronic format so as to avoid use of printed copies which have a possibility of spreading the virus during handling.
“The Agency has further procured masks and protective gloves for officers giving high priority to those working in high risk areas. In efforts aimed at enhancing hygiene, the Agency has also put in place hand washing facilities with running water and hand sanitizers,” Mr Chipandwe said.
FRA, he said, had appointed enforcement officers in every section to ensure that staff and the few clients adhered to guidelines at all times.
“The Agency is also disinfecting pool vehicles, computers and other equipment and all members of staff have been urged to cooperate.
