Publicise Bill 10 alongside Covid-19 sensitisation

By SANFROSSA MANYINDA
GOVERNMENT Chief Whip, Brian Mundubile, has called on Members of Parliament(MPs) to sensirise people about Covid-19 alongside details of Constitutional Amendment Bill number 10 of 2019.
Mr Mundubile said that there was need for MPs to publicise contents of Bill 10 while sensitising people on Covid-19.
He said that the lawmakers should take advantage of the Covid-19 sensitisation programme to also explain the bill.
“We know it has not been easy to explain the bill to the people especially that we are in the midst of the corona virus pandemic but we can try to explain a few things about it as we talk to the people. We pray that we do a good job in our various constituencies,” he said. Mr Mundubile further called on people that were still opposing the bill to do away with their pride and support the interest of the people.
Mr Mundubile, who is also Mporokoso MP, said that there was need for politicians to avoid carrying their own voices but be sensitive to what the Zambian people wanted.
He noted that there was also need for MPs to give confidence to the people that voted them into office as they expounded the two topical issues.
He said that the people were not supposed to feel abandoned by their leaders but feel protected and considered first before anything else.
“We are fighting for this bill to go through because we have the best interest of our people at heart. There is no single phrase in the bill that we are interested in as ruling party, we are doing all this for the Zambian people,” Mr Mundubile emphasised.
