Chinese mask Copperbelt scribes

THE Zambia Chinese Association Copperbelt Chapter has donated 500 face masks and 50 hand sanitisers to Kitwe-based media institutions to use while carrying out various assignments in their line of duty.
Chapter President, Wang Xin, said the journalist were at risk of contracting the covid-19 because of their nature of job, hence it was imperative that they were equipped with face masks and hand sanitizers.
Mr Wang said the media had a critical role to play in disseminating information and sensitizing communities regarding Covid-19.
“You the media, you should help with information that will help people on how to prevent the spread of Covid-19. You have a huge task and in carrying out your duties, you may get exposed to this disease.
“This is why we thought we should donate these face masks and hand sanitizers worth K8,500. This is a battle for everybody,” Mr Wang said.
Mr Wang said he has been working in close collaboration with Itimpi Ward councillor Mpasa Mwaya in various areas to curb the spread of the disease.
He urged people in various communities to cooperate with the Ministry of Health officials and other personnel involved in the fight against the pandemic.
“Covid-19 is a deadly disease which has continued to ravage various parts of the world. This is why there is need to ensure that Ministry of Health guidelines are strictly adhered to,” he said
