UCZ gatherings remain suspended

THE United Church of Zambia (UCZ) has maintained that worship services, group meetings and other activities remain suspended during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Acting Synod Bishop, Rodwell Chomba, however said that the mode of offerings and family churches would continue as earlier prescribed.
Bishop Chomba made the announcement in a pastoral letter dated April 25, 2020 to all congregations in the country and obtained in Kitwe.
He said that the UCZ had decided that members should continue with the earlier precautions until the review date which was May 9, 2020.
“Fellow believers, you may wish to note that the President’s guidance is on conditional on our abilities as congregations too meeting social distancing, mandatory wearing of face masks, sanitising and hand washing guidelines.
“This being the case, the UCZ has decided that we continue with the earlier precautions up to the review date, which is the 9th May 2020,” he said.
Bishop Chomba emphasised that Sunday worship service, Holy Communion and other sacraments remain suspended.
