Two nabbed for possession of GRZ mosquito nets

POLICE in Kalumbila district have arrested two people for being in possession of 500 mosquito nets belonging to the Government of the Republic of Zambia.

The mosquito nets are believed to have been stolen from a Government health institution.

North Western deputy commissioner if police Chola Katanga identified the suspects as  Mulimbi Emer Ngoyi, 48, a Congolese national of Road 36 in Maheba refugee camp, and Joel Kaivwa, an ambulance driver at Maheba D clinic.

“I can confirm that we have apprehended two people who were found in possession of mosquito nets believed to have stolen from a health institution,’’  Mr Katanga said.

He said Ngoyi was apprehended by alert members of the public at Maheba junction on Thursday around 12:00 hours while taking the property to unknown destination.  He said after interrogation Ngoyi revealed that he received the property from the second suspect.  “The two are in police custody pending investigation and a docket has been opened,’’ he added.
