ANDELEKI PLEDGES TO DEVELOP KATOMBORA

By ANDREW MUKOMA

UPND Katombora parliamentary candidate, Clement Andeleki, has observed that the constituency has remained undeveloped because of poor leadership.

Mr Andeleki said that after wining the parliamentary seat on August 12, he would inherit a ravaged constituency due to underdeveloped but promised to make a positive change.

He said it was for that reason that the people of Katombora had already decided to vote for the UPND to form government after August 12 this year.

The former Registrar of Societies observed that the ruling party has neglected the people of Katombora such that levels of illiteracy and poverty are very high.

In an interview with the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr Andeleki said that the PF has failed and should leave power next month.

“Katombora Constituency is one of the places in Southern Province that have decided to change government on 12th August and I can promise you that we have a massive vote going towards the UPND.

“The ground is ripe for Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND. People feel like changing government like yesterday. We are bringing a massive vote on the table and there will be a zero vote for the PF because we have a resounding response on the ground,” Mr Andeleki said.

He lamented that Katombora has been ravaged with poverty and high levels of illiteracy such that it cannot develop under the current government.

Mr Andeleki said that the poverty and illiteracy levels can only be addressed by his party if Zambians will be able to vote for change.

“We will address this by opening up the district because we have five chiefs around. UPND will put development projects in rural areas because my people live on farming but their animals have been hit with the food and mouth disease. Right now foot and mouth has hit the area.

“There are no dip tanks for animals. I have inherited a whole ravaged place and people are suffering.

“It is shameful to have a government like PF which has prioritized foreigners and not its own people. We cannot even produce a blanket as a country but we relay on foreigners and right now farmers are only getting three bags of fertilizer instead of five,” he said.

“I am appealing to the people of Zambia to support us as UPND by voting for us because PF has no capacity to develop Katombora,” he said.
