SMALL business owners in Zambia should not be discouraged by slow growth as all big and well to do companies started at the same pace, says President Edgar Lungu.

President Lungu said that most of the successful and thriving businesses started out small.

He encouraged small business owners not to be discouraged by the slow growth of their ventures.

The President said this during a tour of the stands at the ongoing 91st Agriculture and Commercial Show in Lusaka.

“Even myself, I was once a small boy but now I’m grown. Businesses also start out like that, it might be a small business today but an empire tomorrow. So honestly, people should not get discouraged with small business,” he said.

Meanwhile, visiting South African President, Jacob Zuma also toured stands at the Agriculture and Commercial show.

President Zuma thanked the Zambian people for being receptive to the many South African business persons investing in Zambia. President Zimba, who was in the country to officiate the opening of the 91st Agriculture and Commercial Show hailed the continued cordial relations between Zambia and South Africa.

President Zuma also called on Zambians to invest in South Africa as the bilateral trade agreements signed between the two countries were still binding.
