CONFUSION ROCKS UPND IN KALULUSHI AS TWO CANDIDATES PITCH UP

By ROGERS KALERO
CONFUSION rocked the UPND camp in Kalulushi constituency when two candidates turned up to file the nominations.

Chikabala Kaleta and Ngosa Daka emerged at Kalulushi Civic Centre to file their nominations on the UPND ticket resulting in confusion.

Mr Kaleta said that the National Management Council (NMC) through Chairman for Election, Garry Nkombo, adopted him to contest the Kalulushi constituency seat on the UPND ticket but was shocked to find that Mr Daka had also another adoption certificate.

“I am the one who was adopted by the NMC. Chairman for Elections Garry Nkombo gave me the adoption certificate but when I turned up to file my nominations I found Mr Daka with the adoption certificate.

“During the confusion, one of the police officers tore apart my adoption certificate and I was very disappointed with his conduct,” Mr Kaleta said. Mr Kaleta said however a new memorandum from Lusaka was received confirming that he was the official candidate for the UPND and would proceed to file the nominations.

Meanwhile, PF Kalulushi constituency candidate, Kampamba Mulenga, said the PF had delivered development in the district and she was sure that she would be given another mandate to continue delivering development in the area.

Ms Mulenga was speaking at the Civic Centre after she filed her nomination.

And former Kalulushi Mayor, Rashida Mulenga, said she had decided to contest the Kalulushi seat because of her experience in the local authority and was sure if elected MP, she would deliver development.
