UPND is dead to me – GBM

By SILUMESI MALUMO
CORNELIUS Mweetwa was pleading with me to go back to the UPND but over my dead body can I ever go back to the United Party for National Development, Patriotic Front ( PF ) vice chairperson for mobilisation Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said.
Mr Mwamba said it would be total nonsense to go back to UPND.
Mr Mwamba said the opposition party was merciless and it would be nonsensical to turn back to the same ‘selfish’ party.
He said in an interview yesterday, the UPND did not consider him to be important at that time, the party leadership ditched him without thinking of what he sacrificed for the party.
Mr Mwamba who is populary known as GBM, was reacting to an article which was published in the Mast newspaper yesterday that he would go back to the UPND and eat with them.
But Mr Mwamba who is former UPND vice president for administration, rubbished the article, stating that it was a total distortion of the information.
It is Cornelius Mweetwa who was pleading with me to go back to UPND when I was in Monze yesterday (Tuesday) but I told him facts that your party leadership hounded me out from the party without considering what I did for it and I can not come back, he said.
The publication, Mr Mwamba said, was full of fabrication, saying the UPND must stop dreaming that he would return to the party.
Mr Mwamba said he cannot go back to UPND because it had nothing to offer but full of greed and heartless leadership.
“Tell them that it is total fabrication and distortion of information. Surely in my normal five senses would I ever dream of going back to UPND when they have really hounded me out of the party without deal consideration for what I did for them.
I think that is mere wishful thinking and that cannot happen. Why should I bring shame to myself by going back to the party that has the leadership which does not appreciate me,” he said.
Mr Mwamba said that he was more than happy to be with the PF family who had welcomed him with both hands and it was appreciating his involvement in the party activities.
