CHIPOLOPOLO Soccer Fans Associations have challenged the national soccer team coach Milutin Sredojević to work at producing results now that his contract had been finalised.
Chipolopolo soccer fans chairman Yotham Mwanza said that he was optimistic that the government input would spur positive results and be able to make the team qualify to the Africa Cup.
He said that the fans were happy that Government had come on board and it sat well with the general fans in the country.
Mwanza said that he believed that the contract Micho had signed was performance-based and hence he needed to spur good results and be able to qualify the team to the AfCON and World Cup.
“We need to applaud Government for coming on board to be able to meet their part in terms of Micho’s contract, we hope that money will spur positivity to be able to work and make the national team qualify to the Africa Cup and indeed take us to Qatar, “ Mwanza said.
Going forward we hope coach Micho having had this contract he will also be able to produce results because we believe that the contract is a performance-based one and he has to live up to it.
And Mwanza noted that it was good that Government and FAZ had decided to start on a clean slate for the betterment of Zambian football.
FAZ announced last week that they and th Sports Ministry had decided to start on a clean slate following a meeting that was held between the minister and FAZ officials last week.
