Dont rush – Chambeshi advises

By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSA
AFTER an impressive performance that could earn them a move to top European leagues, coach Beston “Quicksilver” Chambeshi has advised Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu not to rush to join another club, because it is not the right time.
The Under-23 national team coach said the duo still have a lot of work to do at Redbull Salzburg before thinking of leaving the Austrian champions.
At the weekend, the Zambian duo were outstanding with Daka scoring a hat trick while Mwepu netted once and provided an assist in Salzburg’s 6-0 thrashing of Hartberg.
Chambeshi said the time for the boys to make a move away from Austria is not yet ripe. He said they m“For now, let them remain at Salzburg, they don’t have to even rush, patience pays. I have that feeling that big teams are closer to them. Because I have seen two of their teammates joined big teams Liverpool and Dortmund. So it’s now our turn,” Chambeshi said.
The former Nkana gaffer attributed the eye-catching performance of the two to discipline and urged other young players to follow in their footsteps.
“It’s a good wake-up call for the young boys who are coming up, they have to learn a few things from Daka, Mwepu and Fashion Sakala. I think they have seen how good football is, the way they are doing it. It falls on discipline again, that’s the key. The boys are well disciplined and want to see to it that their career goes further in this game of football. I am seeing the boys doing the job in the right direction,” Chambeshi said. And former Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda said it was an emotional moment to see the people who condemned him for believing in the boys now sing praises.
“It is always a great feeling sitting back to watch the boys doing us proud. Being one of their mentor and standing up for them when almost all odds were against my choice and decision, it is so emotional to see and hear the same mouths that hurled unprintables on me cheering and praising them so highly. One day I told the scribes that Patson will one day be Zambia’s pride and I praise God to be alive and see this come to pass,” Nyirenda said.
Meanwhile, Chambeshi who is Kansanshi Dynamos Coach has called on FAZ to give teams at least three weeks of training before any competitive fixture.
