Kalulushi skills training centres on cards

By ROGERS KALERO
THE Kalulushi Municipal Council (KMC) will set up three skills training centres for the youth and women in the district, Mayor Rashida Mulenga has said.
Ms Mulenga said the three centres will be established in Kalulushi, Chambishi and Chibuluma townships to provide skills training in tailoring, Information Communication Technology, brick laying and carpentry among other skills.
The mayor was speaking yesterday when the local authority donated 35 sewing machines, 17 carpentry tools, 10 building tools and six computers to 25 youth and women clubs in the district.
Ms Mulenga led the Council Management on an empowerment programme aimed at promoting skills development among the people in the area.
The programme was made possible with support from Vision Care Foundation (VCF) and from Tools With A Mission (TWAM), a UK based organization.
The Mayor encouraged the beneficiaries to effectively utilize the facilities and further thanked VCF and TWAM for their support.
“As Mayor, I would like to urge you to use these tools effectively and properly. These tools will make you become self-sustaining in your lives. With these tools, you will develop into big entrepreneurs,” she said.
