Manyinga farmer happy with early input delivery

By JACKSON MAPAPAYI
A FARMER in Manyinga has hailed Government for the timely purchase of maize and payment to farmers by the Food Reserve Agency.

Speaking in an interview, Mr Robertson Kapenda, said with the timely payment of farmers, farmers would prepare adequately for the next farming season.
“As farmers, we are happy Government through the Food Reserve Agency has purchased our maize and paid us on time. At least now we can start preparing for the next farming season” he said.
Mr Kapenda said the early delivery of farming input would enabled farmers secure seed and other farming inputs on time.
“This is how it should be if we are to talk of food security at household level,” he said.
Meanwhile, Manyinga stakeholders’ chairperson, Patrick Kamboyi, called on investors to consider investing in the agriculture sector, especially dairy for milk production.
“Manyinga should be considered highly as a potential area for investment, especially in the agriculture sector,” Mr Kamboyi said.
He stated that Manyinga has arable land and abundant water sources ideal for large scale commercial farming.
