PF FLOUTING COVID-19 RULES, SAYS UPND

By SANFROSSA MANYINDA
THE United Party for National Development (UPND) has challenged Government and the ruling party to respect Covid-19 guide-lines as they continue with party mobilisation programmes to avoid the second wave of the virus.

UPND spokesperson, Charles Kakoma, told the Daily Nation in Kitwe that the PF had been gathering in large numbers without observing health guidelines.
Mr Kakoma said that almost all the people that attend mobilisation programmes were spotted without face masks and not observing social distancing. “This is very dangerous and a big risk because we may experience the second wave of the virus as a country. If we failed to con-tain the first wave of the virus, do you think we will manage the second one?” he questioned.
Mr Kakoma said people should not take advantage of the declining numbers of the positive cases recorded, stating that the virus was still among the citizens.
He said that the leaders in the ruling party were merely showing the public that they could ignore the Covid-19 guidelines and go back to their ways of living.
Mr Kokoma said that the earlier the situation was controlled by the leaders the better.
