THE police should move in quickly and arrest Patriotic Front (PF) cadres who are refusing to relocate and pave way for the construction of Zesco pylon fence at Soweto market, PF youth chairman Kennedy Kamba has said.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Kamba said traders at Soweto marker should not drag the name of the ruling party into issues which were straight forward and of national interest.

He warned that he will not tolerate anyone masquerading as PF cadre to deter development and tarnish the name of President Edgar Lungu and the party, therefore the cadres should move out because the place belonged to Zesco.

“I think Zesco has police officers, hence the cadres should be moved out so that Zesco can complete the construction of the fence; moreover that place is a hazard and too risky for them to continue trading under those pylons,’’ said Mr Kamba.

He said the cadres should not be allowed to continue trading under the pylons which was illegal and unsafe, stating that the PF will not allow lawlessness in markets because they were public places and belonged to every Zambian.

There has been several complaints by the contractor hired to fence the Zesco pylons that some alleged PF cadres were refusing to move out to allow the completion of the project.

And Mr Haggrey Mushimbw,  a trader, said cadres were also harassing Zesco personnel each time they came to the site, stating that they could not be moved out because they belonged to the ruling PF.

Marble Mwale, also a trader, said trading under the pylons was not conducive to business, hence the police should be deployed and move the cadres from the site.
