CAPITAL investment of US$35 million has been injected in the four-Star Holiday Inn in Lusaka which precedes the opening of a revamped InterContinental Hotel in 2021.
Holiday Inn, a member of the InterContinental Hotel’s Group (IHG), will open a 162 roomed hotel in Lusaka.
With a capital investment of US$35 million, the Holiday Inn Lusaka is being constructed as an eco-friendly hotel addressing one of the world’s most critical problems of climate change.
The ultra-modern property occupying the eastern wing of the InterContinental Hotel building boosts re-modelled bedrooms new in the Holiday Inn brand design.
Resident Manager, Mark Ross, said the new Holiday Inn Lusaka would leverage on the brands unrivalled heritage and unique position in shaping positive experiences for its guests.
Mr Ross said despite the Holiday Inn brand having been on the Zambian market before, the new hotel would offer a different level of service.
He was speaking during a media tour of the premises.
“Our focus with the Holliday Inn is to create a hotel that delivers authentic experiences that everyone can enjoy and depend on.
“Whether it is Family, Business, Local or International Travelers, the Hotel will deliver unparalleled service, unique design style which is Warm, Welcoming and Bright bringing the global brand positioning “the Joy of Travel” to life,” Mr Ross said.
Mr Ross said the hotel would also feature tranquil and relaxed open lobby areas for all day dining, quick meetings or link up with friends and family.
“The Holiday Inn will score a lot of firsts on the local market and we are excited about putting forth a product that helps families to bond, business associates forge stronger business ties and being a laid-back family friendly hotel, one of our unique product offerings is for children under 12 years old to stay for free when they stay with paying parents or guardians in roll away beds,” he said.
The hotel will feature I62 rooms of which 30 would be exclusive to long or extended stays.
