THE construction of the US$40 million Standard Chartered Bank Zambia new head office in Lusaka has been completed.
Standard Chartered Bank head of corporate affairs, brand and marketing, Christine Matambo, said the imposing building boasts energy-efficiency features, including an onsite water purification system, an automatic energy saving lighting system.
Ms Matambo said in a statement that the building’s critical installations would be powered via solar system, and it would be a plastic-free environment, amongst many others.
“This US$40million investment is testament to Standard Chartered Bank’s long history and continued commitment to Zambia for the long-term. We are very proud of our new Head Office building, which sits in the heart of Lusaka,” Ms Matambo said.
She said Standard Chartered Bank staff would soon move from Cairo Road to the new building within the next six weeks, which has brought much excitement.
The new head office is located at the corner of Mwaimwena Road and Addis Ababa Drive near the Taj Pamodzi Hotel.
