RB urges Zambian graduates to be innovative

THE graduating students In Zambia should take advantage of Government empowerment programmes to create jobs, former republican President Rupiah Banda has said.

Mr Banda who is also Cavendish University Zambia Chancellor said he expected students to create jobs for themselves and others using the existing programs as not everyone would be employed.
He said this yesterday during the 13th virtual graduation ceremony for Cavendish University Zambia in Lusaka
He said students should be innovative and contribute to the development of Zambia.
Mr Banda further said the challenges that the Covid-19 had brought required change of mind set from graduating students.
He Zambia would only progress if citizens decided to take part in national development.
The former President urged the graduates to promote the one Zambia one nation motto and the spirit of entrepreneurship.
He further said Zambia should not be divided because of religion and tribe.
And Cavendish University Zambia Vice Chancellor Welani Chilengwe urged students to make a difference in society.
Meanwhile, the guest of honour, Dr Mbita Chitala urged graduands to be resilient.
Dr. Chitala praised the University for managing to graduate students despite the effects of the Covid 19.
