SHOPRITE has given away 25 cars worth approximately US$ 700, 00 to the public through the ‘win-one-of-25 cars’ competition in Zambia as a way of celebrating its 25 years existence and operations in the country.

The 25 Isuzu single cab light trucks were handed over to the winners at a colorful ceremony in Lusaka on Friday.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Shoprite general manager Charles Bota said the draw which started in August this year was meant to thank customers who bought various goods from the chain store.
Mr Botha said in celebrating the 25-year milestone, Shoprite conducted various functions, competitions and donations to communities wherever the supermarket was located as a way of showing their gratitude to customers because it was not easy for other businesses to operate during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“As we celebrate our 25 years of trading in Zambia we celebrate being a good corporate citizen that touches the daily lives of people. We currently have a total of 39 stores, we employ a total of 5,300 workers across the country.
“Our biggest stakeholders is our customers because without them, we would not have managed to have business,” he said.
We have engaged over 600 suppliers and service providers of foods, non foods, agricultural produce as well as various services such as maintenance, logistics, cleaning and security,” he said.
He said it was Shoprite hope that the 25 vehicles that were won would help in improving the people’s lives.
