U-17 storm Cosafa finals

ZAMBIA’S Under -17 women’s soccer team has stormed the finals of the 2020 COSAFA Under-17 youth championship after maintaining their unbeaten run at the tournament following the bashing of Comoros Islands.

The Young Copper Queens beat Comoros 3-0 in their third fixture played at the Oval Stadium in Port Elizaberth.
Two first half goals from Comfort Selemani and Tisilile Lungu and a second half goal from Bupe Banda propelled the Kaluba Kangwa-drilled side to nine points.
Kangwa said the girls would now focus on their next game against Zimbabwe before the final slated for Saturday at the Wolfson Stadium.
Zambia who beat South Africa and Tanzania 2-1 respectively before beating Comoros 3-0 yesterday, will take on Zimbabwe in the last group game tomorrow as they await second best performers for the final.
Meanwhile, the senior women’s team captain Barbra Banda said the Copper Queens will fight hard to beat Botswana to reach the finals of the 2020 COSAFA Senior Women’s Championship in South Africa.
Zambia will play Botswana tomorrow with the winner progressing to the finals where they will play the winner between South Africa and Malawi who are set to lock horns in the other semifinal tie.
