Kamba counsels Chief Mukuni

By SILUMESI MALUMO
SENIOR Chief Mukuni must begin to carry out his duties with integrity befitting a senior chief, the Patriotic Front (PF) has said.

PF Lusaka Province Secretary, Kennedy Kamba, said the traditional leader carried a status of a senior Chief but does not treat President Edgar Lungu and the PF correctly.
He told the Daily Nation yesterday Senior Chief Mukuni had embraced Mr Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND and did not want anything to do with the PF.
His language, Mr Kamba said, had been that of hate against President Lungu over weird claims that the PF Government wanted to arrest Hakainde Hichilema with treason.
“Senior Chief Mukuni says he has nothing against the PF apart from pointing out the wrongs of the ruling party and Government. We consider this to be a strange comment because he does not mean well for the PF and this he knows deep down his heart.
“Further, the levels of bitterness, agitation and aggression that Senior Chief Mukuni exhibits every time Mr Hichilema is called to account on his wealth or the role he played in privatisation has left us perplexed,” he said.
Mr Kamba added: “We must end tribalism, we must end favouritism and we must bring to an end the kind of divisive politics that senior chief Mukuni exhibits. It’s through such honest approach that we will consider his checks and balances that he provides, if any, apart from politics.
