PF must win back Livingstone – Veep

By ANDREW MUKOMA
THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) expects a good vote in Livingstone following a favourable response from the on-going voter registration exercise, Vice-President Inonge Wina has said.

Ms Wina said that Livingstone constituency was initially a PF seat which should get back to the ruling party in 2021.
She said, in order to do that, PF members must engage citizens so that they could register in numbers as voters.
The Vice-President was speaking upon arrival at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone yesterday.
Ms Wina urged those that voted in 2016 that they still required to register and get new cards for them to vote next year.
She said this was because the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) will not allow the old voters cards.
“I have been informed that the voter registration exercise is going on very well in Livingstone and this is good development because that card will be the most powerful tool for you to choose good men and women representatives who will represent you well in Parliament,” she said.
The Vice President said that with the voters’ card in place, citizens would be able to choose men and women who would deliver development as parliamentary representative.
PF Provincial Chairman, Lawrence Evans, said that the ruling party would not be deterred by the opposition UPND’s propaganda but would instead work hard to ensure President Edgar Lungu was retained in State House in 2021.
