Teacher hangs himself over debt

A 36-YEAR-OLD teacher at Kasonjola Primary School of Chipangali has committed suicide by hanging himself.

The teacher hanged himself using a wire after failing to pay back the money he owed some people
Eastern Province Commissioner of Police, Luckson Sakala, incident identified the victim as Mr Mabvuto Njobvu.
Mr Sakala said Mr Njobvu left a note, stating that he decided to end his life because he owed money to several people.
Mr Sakala said the incident happened on Monday and the body was found in the house by a pupil he was staying with.
“Mabvuto Njobvu of Kasonjola Primary School has allegedly hanged himself with a wire. He was found hanging in the house by a pupil he was staying with,” Mr Sakala said.
He said the body had been deposited in Chipata Central Hospital Mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
