THE Zambia Under-20 national team propelled to six points in Group-B of the 2020 COSAFA Mens Under-20 Championship after beating Comoros Islands 2-0 in a group B fixture at Wolfson Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Goals from John Chishimba and Derrick Bulaya handed Zambia their second victory at the COSAFA having beaten Namibia in the first game.
Chishimba broke the deadlock within three minutes of kick off, beating the Comoros Islands goal keeper with a brilliant shot from inside the 18-yard box.
Bulaya doubled the Junior Chipolopolo’s advantage in the dying minutes of the first half, tapping the ball into an empty net after some solo moments of brilliance from team captain Prince Mumba who went past two defenders before setting up Bulaya.


Comoros almost got a consolation goal in the 67th minute but were unfortunate as goal keeper Patrick Chooma denied Fahad Yacine from scoring penalty which was saved as Zambia maintained a 2-0 lead.
Chishimba almost grabbed his brace in the 77th minute but he was unlucky as his strike went over the bar.
And despite having been substituted in the 90th minute for Joshua Mutale, Captain Prince Mumba was voted man of the match for his superb performance.
An excited assistant coach Billy Mwanza who noted that the boys put up an impressive performance compared to the first game against Namibia. Zambia’s next game is against Malawi on Wednesday, December 9. The top two countries at the COSAFA will qualify for the CAF U-20 African Cup of Nations.
