LUNGU CHALLENGES HH

HAKAINDE Hichilema should raise his voice and condemn the violence being perpetrated by his cadres, President Edgar Lungu has said.

President Lungu said it was disappointing that some of the violence by UPND cadres was happening in the presence of Mr Hichilema but he was still it a blind eye.

The Head of State said this during a meeting with the Pastors Fellowship in Chisamba.

“Hakainde Hichilema should denounce the violence by his cadres.  There is no way he can keep quiet because some of this is committed right in his presence,” he said.

President Lungu said leaders should take responsibility for the wrongs of their followers committed in their name.

He said followers listen to the voice of their leaders hence it was important  for the UPND leader, Mr Hichilema to condemn violence among his followers.

President Lungu said it was clear that most of the violence being witnessed was being committed by UPND cadres.

He said PF was committed to peace, saying it was beyond mere signing of peace pacts.

President Lungu said there was need for swift action from all political leaders to ensure peace in the country.

Earlier, President Lungu said no political leader would enter State House using evil schemes.

He said leadership came from God, saying that God would not allow a ‘violent’ leader to enter State House.

President Lungu said this during a meeting with Chief Chamuka of Chisamba.

And Chief Chamuka urged President Lungu to continue encouraging peace to prevail in the country.
