NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) leader Chishimba Kambwili has been found with a case to answer in a matter he is charged with contempt of court.

In this case, the former Roan Member of Parliament has been accused of tampering with Patents and Companies Registration Authority (PACRA) documents relating to his Mwamona Engineering and Technical Services Limited.
Kambwili is accused of falsifying the documents to indicate that his son Mwamba was one of the directors and yet the latter was a minor at the time of the company’s registration with PACRA. In October this year Kambwili was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment with hard labour by High Court Deputy Registrar David Simusamba, who was sitting as Principal Resident Magistrate in the matter.
The NDC leader was accused of tampering with the documents by Economic Equity Party (EEP) president Chilufya Tayali while trial in the main case was going on.
Kambwili is said to have changed his son’s names from the initial ones that appeared at the company’s prior registration at PACRA.
