A 16-YEAR-OLD girl in Zimba has been beaten to death by five members of her family for not sleeping home.
Olen Siang’andu of Kayaba village in Chief Simwatachela Village was beaten by her father Legacy Sikaambi aged 39 years, her grandfather Folosi Sikaambi aged 79 years, her uncles Polse Sikaambi aged 50 years and Rodwell Sikaambi aged 29 years and her brother Conceder Siangandu aged 18 years.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said Olen stained bruises all over the body and suspected internal injuries.
Ms. Katongo said it is alleged that the victim did not sleep at home after attending a wedding in a nearby village.
She explained that the suspects also assaulted another 16-year-old girl, Oviness Michelo, 16 years who is a complainant.
Ms. Katongo disclosed that the complainant sustained bruises on the back and general body Pain and is admitted to Zimba Mission Hospital and the body of the deceased is in Zimba Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting Postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death.
