MAZABUKA member of Parliament, Gary Nkombo has been accused of suppressing democracy in the recently held Western Province elections to install puppets to help him topple Hakainde Hichilema,  former provincial chairman, Musangu Njamba has charged.

Mr Njamba said UPND national chairperson for elections Garry Nkombo has continued to suppress democracy in the region so that he can have his puppets in position to support him at the national convention where he plans to challenge Mr Hichilema for the UPND presidency.

Mr Njamba said Mr Nkombo as commissioner for provincial elections allowed ineligible people to vote.

Mr Njamba said four districts petitioned the results of the district that have not been settled yet but were allowed to hold elections in the bush.

Meanwhile, Mr Njamba has also accused UPND national women’s chairlady and the incoming provincial chairperson of segregation based on tribe. He claimed that the two are getting rid of Nkoyas and Luvales from the party in the province.

He has maintained that there is no democracy in UPND and he would not accept results of the provincial elections.

And Mr Njamba said the UPND in the region has launched a campaign to hound those that came from other political parties to join.

Mr Njamba has described the just ended UPND provincial elections as a sham and cannot claim to be party provincial elections.

“Now that they think the party is forming Government next year they want to get rid of all those that came from other political parties including PF and MMD,” Mr Njamba said.

Mr Njamba said it will not be right for UPND to use people from other parties as a ladder and later dump them.

Mr Njamba said he will not accept to be hounded from the party at a time it was about to form Government.

“When I joined UPND, I had a car but now I do not. I had two hands now I have one, my lips were okay now they are not and now they want to get rid of me,” he said.
