UPND painting Zambia black – Chief Chikwanda

Story Highlights
  • “Appealing to the international community by the opposition is showing the outside world that there is peace in the country, the international community does not set our laws, each country has its problems and rules and laws’

THE UPND has been trying to paint the country black in the eyes of the international community through false and unsubstantiated allegations so that aid is halted, Chief Chikwanda has observed.

Chief Chikwanda said the attitude of appealing to the international community every time there was a misunderstanding by the opposition was ill intended.

He said that each and every country had its own rules, hence crying to the international community was not the best solution.

Chief Chikwanda observed some countries have had war for a long time but they do not cry to the international community.

“Appealing to the international community by the opposition is showing the outside world that there is peace in the country, the international community does not set our laws, each country has its problems and rules and laws’

“There some country’s which there is no peace but they don’t appeal to the international community every time, the reason there doing that is trying to say that there is no peace so that they don’t give us aid, and for investors to pull out which is not good because it is the people that suffer at the end of the day,” he said.

Chief Chikwanda advised the opposition UPND to desist from reporting to the international community whenever there was an issue adding that doing so didnot portray a good picture of the country to the outside world.
