AN ATTEMPT by embattled lawyer Chima Nchito to have his impersonation case thrown out was yesterday rejected by the Magistrate Court.

It is not clear whether the papers for the hearing were served on the complainant and the complainant’s lawyers or not.

This was in a matter of impersonation filed against Mr Nchito before Lusaka Magistrate Humphrey Chitalu.

Magistrate Chitalu refused to grant the application raised against the complainant, Mr Kelvin Fube Bwalya, owing to his absence from court.

Mr Nchito submitted before the court that the matter be dismissed because Mr Bwalya was not in court.

But Magistrate Chitalu refused to dismiss the matter, that such action could be unfair to the complainant and instead allowed him to be given an opportunity to come before at the next hearing set for Tuesday, 19 September, 2017.

Mr Nchito is accused of having presented himself as a lawyer of the Post Newspapers in liquidation when in fact he was not.
