I AM a PF member and I will announce my next political move after the national conference, lawyer, Kevin Bwalya Fube (KBF) has said.

Mr Fube said he would only decide whether to form his political party or work with the already established political parties once the PF national conference was over.

He said if not adopted, he was ready to work with any person adopted by PF at the national conference that would move the ruling party forward.

“If I am not adopted by PF, I have always said it consistently that I never discuss strategies on public. But let us cross the bridge when we get there. I want to know who the candidate for PF is after the national conference, then I will decide because as it stands now, PF has no President because we elected ba Lungu in 2014 as our President in PF and his mandate run out in 2019 after five years.

“So, the party has no leadership and what we have is a republican President. So, we are going for a conference and if they will not choose me, fine. But I have got ideas which I want to move and that doesn’t stop my ambition. I will decide what to do thereafter. If they will choose the right person, who I think can move the party forward and I can work with that person, then I have no problem,” Mr Fube said.

He said he was against some current leaders in PF who lacked leadership qualities.

“Yes, politics is about numbers, but the numbers are not just about ‘ifisonso’ (riffraffs) no. We need quality more especially when we are giving leadership. If you are just looking for votes, you can look for them from anywhere but leadership, you need to attract quality and capable people not self-confessed bootlickers.

On Friday, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila said Mr Fube was no longer a PF member as he remained expelled and that his claim that he would challenge President Edgar Lungu during the national convention was baseless.

Mr Mwila urged Mr Fube to form his own political party or join other opposition political parties if he wanted to contest the presidency.
