Let’s pray for rains, says Rev Sumaili

By SILUMESI MALUMO
FORMER Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili has appealed to Zambians to pray to God for the prolonged drought to end.
Reverend Sumaili said it is important that all Zambians unite and humble themselves before God.
She said the prolonged dry spell is not ordinary as it requires spiritual intervention.
“With humility and great reverence we the people of Zambia unite as we ask the maker of rains to open the heavens and pour out the rains. We repent of our sins, transgressions and iniquity. We call for the blood of Jesus Christ to wash our hearts and cleanse us,” she said.
Rev Sumaili stated “God said, ‘When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land’.”
She said Zambians at this particular time must hear God’s advice and believe his word to heal the land, a nation which has been dedicated to Almighty God and where Jesus Christ reigns.
“We stand for righteousness for it exalts the nation,” Rev Sumaili said.
