ZACCI prods Zambian industries

THE Zambia Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) has called on Zambian industries to look at opportunities of manufacturing and producing various components that will go into various finished products for the battery, electric vehicles and renewable energy value chain.
Chamber president Chabuka Kawesha says the global transition towards green energy and rapid decarbonization holds significant opportunities for Africa and from which Zambia has a lot to gain.
Dr Kawesha has urged private sector players that Zambia must expand its visibility in the project both main and subsidiary, announce of aligned products to the project and other potential contributions.
He says the development of a battery, electric vehicle (BEV) and renewable energy industrial value chain will surely bring the Zambian business entrepreneurs, scientists, researchers and industrialists to the fore.
Dr Kawesha was speaking in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Kinshasa DRC – Africa Business Forum’ on fostering the development of a battery, electric vehicle (BEV) and renewable energy industrial value chain and market in Africa.
