KAWAMBWA TEA COMPANY RE-OPENS

THE production at ZAFFICO Kawambwa Tea Company has resumed following President Edgar Lungu’s signing of acquisition order, Luapula Province Minister, Nickson Chilangwa has disclosed.

Mr Chilangwa, who is Patriotic Front Kawambwa Central Member of Parliament, confirmed the opening of the factory and thanked President Edgar Lungu for taking a bold decision to ensure the company was opened.

The Provincial Minister said that the people of Kawambwa were excited and happy by President Edgar’s decision to claim back Kawambwa Tea Company for the Zambian which was sold to Kumul Holdings of Zimbabwe.

In a statement, Mr. Chilangwa disclosed that the production at ZAFFICO tea-former Kawambwa Tea Company has resumed following President Edgar Lungu’s signing of acquisition order.

He said that the people of Kawambwa were happy with President Lungu for making a robust decision to claim back the company for the Zambians which was sold by the MMD government.

The Provincial Minister said the opening of the company would provide the much needed employment for the people of Kawambwa and Zambia at large.

He said that the PF government under President Lungu has demonstrated that it was committed to creating employment for the youth through the opening of ZAFFICO tea- former Kawambwa Tea Company.

“We are happy that production at ZAFFICO tea, former Kawambwa Tea Company has resumed following President Edgar Lungu’s signing of acquisition order.

“Our people lost hope after the MMD government sold the company to Kumul Holdings of Zimbabwe until President Lungu made this robust decision to claim the company back for the people,” Mr. Chilangwa said.
