LUSAKA MAYOR KALUMBA SHOULD RESIGN

Dear Editor,

Lusaka Mayor Wilson Kalumba has lamentably failed to work hard for the people of Lusaka.

It did not take the young man Christopher Kang’ombe (Mayor of Kitwe) to wait until cholera struck for him to clean up the city.

It took the whole Head of State to intervene in cleaning Lusaka by employing soldiers to clean up the rubbish in the Central Business District.

Are those soldiers employed by the Ministry of Local Government? Where are Kalumba’s cleaners? Has Kalumba even had time to address vendors on sanitation?

The only job of Kalumba’s workers at Lusaka City Council is to collect money from traders and motorists and pocket it!

The other Kalumba’s job is just to dose in the chair and let President Lungu do the thinking for him!

What kind of a Mayor is this? The only time he has appeared in the media is to defend his position!

Kalumba must bow down to Davies Chama, minister of defence for sending the army to do his job!

If Kalumba was a man of integrity, he should have resigned to protect himself from public embarrassment because Lusaka is a Capital city and the spectacle to outsiders.

It is supposed to be the cleanest city in Zambia with zero cholera cases. There are no cholera cases in Ndola and Kitwe? Why?

Instead of working hard for about 4 million inhabitants of Lusaka, Kalumba is just smiling!

Lusaka City has the most useless elected people who are there just to abuse natural resources of the land for their selfish ends! What a shame!
