PF L\stone youths fume over aspiring parliamentary candidates

By ANDREW MUKOMA

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) youths in Shungu ward in Livingstone have raised concerns with the way the constituency leadership is conducting itself towards aspiring parliamentary candidates.

The youth complained that the constituency leadership led by Thomas Kabanda had been going round, grading and rating candidates without following the due party procedures.

Ward Chairman, Ben Moonga, said that the rating exercise has the potential to bring division in the party.

Mr Moonga said that youths from Shungu ward would not allow Mr Kabanda and his team to visit the ward and conduct the grading and rating of aspiring candidates before all those interested in contesting as MPs hand in their application letters.

He said youths have demanded answers from the leadership which body sanctioned the grading and rating of aspiring candidates.

“We the PF concerned members hereby register our displeasure of the conduct of some PF constituency officials who are going round and posting on social media the grading and rating of aspiring candidates.

“We want to know who allowed this exercise because as far as we are concerned, we did not receive any formal communication from the district…so we don’t want them to come to Shungu ward because we shall chase them,” he said.

Efforts to get a comment from Mr Kabanda proved futile as his phone went unanswered.
