The newly constructed Katuba health post in Mkushi will soon be opened to the public.

Munshibemba ward councillor John Chilala confirmed the development in interview with the Daily Nation.

Mr. Chilala said all was set to open doors to the public in terms of infrastructure and necessities needed at a health facility.

He said what was remaining were small things and deployment of a health worker who will be running the clinic.

“We are hoping to open the health facility as soon as possible. The relevant authority has pledged to send a health worker soon, who will be serving the Katuba community and surrounding areas.” Mr. Chilala said.

Councillor Chilala explained that the health post project was community initiative which was embarked on in 2013 under Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The civic leader added the CDF has seen erection of a complete clinic building and house for the health worker as well as sinking of the borehole.

Councillor Chilala further said the community in the area are cheered by the development and thanked government for the support rendered during construction of the project.
