ZANACO, Health Insurance ink digital payment deal

IN an effort to digitalise payment solutions especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, a partnership has been formed to enhance electronic transactions between Zanaco and the National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA).

In this partnership, Zanaco will provide a payment platform supporting NHIMA collection of insurance premium.

Through the strategic partnership, about 40 percent of payments are expected to be made using the eNHIMA platform.

Zanaco Managing Director, Mukwandi Chibesakunda, said the partnership resonated well with her institution’s digital agenda.

Ms Chibesakunda said during the signing ceremony yesterday in Lusaka that Zanaco was committed to growing Zambia leveraging on its digital agenda.

Ms Chibesakunda said partnership with NHIMA was a demonstration of Zzanaco’s commitment to fostering growth in the health and banking sectors.

She said the collaboration would supplement financial inclusion efforts in the health sector through digital payment platforms.

“The partnership is in line with Zanaco’s digitalisation agenda and Wil contribute to the wellbeing of the Zambian people.

“With this robust digital agenda platform, Zanaco is well placed to carter for the need of mandatory payment of obligations to the national health scheme,” she said.

NHIMA Board Vice-Chairperson, Kingsley Chanda, said the coming on board of Zanaco would enhance NHIMA’s efficiency in the administration of the national health insurance scheme.

Mr Chanda said the partnership would help in mobilisation of resources needed to achieve universal health coverage.

“This project is important in the development of the social economic agenda. Seamless payments are therefore vital to this projects they will strengthen the social and economic development,” he said.
