Kabimba’s remarks on late Sata

Dear Editor,

Kabimba can say what he wants to say about the late President Sata but those of us who were close to the party know the truth.

The truth was that many of us were disillusioned for Mr. Sata to embrace M’membe with the help of the same man who was claiming that President Sata lost control of the party.

Unfortunately for Kabimba, President Sata realized that he had lions and tigers in his midst and that is why he had to sack him.

If God allowed him to be here today, he would have dumped M’membe as well.

So it was the worst kind of folly and deceit on the side of Kabimba to say what he said about Late President Sata when the culprit was himself who went to disorganize the party.

The party is solid now than ever before.

Kudos to Chongwe Municipal council

Dear Editor,

Allow me space in your paper to congratulate Paramount Chief Mpezeni and the Ngoni people of Chipata on hosting a successful Nc’wala ceremony which coincided with the upgrading of Chipata Municipal council into a city.

In the same vein Her Royal Highness, Chieftainess Muka-Mambo(II) together with Chongwe Mayor and Town Clerk will be celebrating the upgrading of this District into a Municipal council becoming the youngest municipality in 2017 on February 27th.

This is no mean achievement for the people of Chongwe, the Town Clerk and the entire Council staff.

It is an open secret that Chongwe hosts strategic military cantonment in the name of the Mikango Barracks, the evergreen ZNS production camp as well as the Smart Zambia Air-force Airport base.

That aside Chongwe boasts of Chalimbana University, best known for In-Service Teacher Training besides having the name of Zimbabwean president Robert Gabriel Mugabe who once taught at this institution in their register.

That is not all. Chongwe houses the only institute which trains pilots at ZASTI and is home to the prestigious Garden City Shopping Mall.

However, critics argue that these infrastructures are not in Chongwe as they benefit more of Lusaka people than Chongwe.

Such is life, Change will always be met with resistance and such people may as well tell the nation that Victoria Falls is not in Zambia as it is visited by foreigners mostly.

The upgrade of Chongwe has come at a right time when Lusaka Province Minister is also Chongwe MP and as such the residents want to see drastic changes to our district.

The roads are bad which has been a cry for many years falling on deaf ears now.

How can we be proud that we are a Municipal when there is no single road to point at?

The water we drink is coloured and we have no proper housing units from the council?

These and many challenges await the Mayor and the Town Clerk as soon as possible.

Development to this district can only come if we put our heads together and bury our political and educational differences.  Time to work is now, if we can’t do it then who will come to do it for us?

Together we can do it ,yes we can. Once more Bravo to you Chongwe Town Clerk and your hardworking team, may God bless you!

Zambia’s radio stations uninspiring

Dear Editor

I am seeking permission to write an article in your respectful newspaper.

I would like to bemoan the lack of content for youths on most of our mushrooming Zambian radio stations.

Of late we have witnessed an increase in the number of radio stations in Zambia which is a good direction because radio is a vital tool of communication.

My concern however has to do with content bcause I feel it doesn’t carter for the majority Zambian youths who spend time listening to the radio.

The radio stations anchor should be to provide content which can help jobless youths venture into entrepreneurship and skills development.

Playing music and time telling is not enough to inspire someone who is on verge of dilapidation.

There is much to be done especially by the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA).

They need to ensure that before the radio station is registered they don’t just copy and paste what others are already doing.  There ought to be creativity. I would like to end by urging the radio anchors thrusted with the mandate of carrying the flagship of their stations to do more survey on what is really urgent to talk about unlike playing music all the time. Irvin Jim, put your nose in your NUMSA

Dear Editor

Now that we know that Fred M’membe and NUMSA general secretary Irvin Jim have been buddies for a long time, it is easy to appreciate his (Jim) anger over the problems of his friend.

But we must tell Jim in no uncertain terms that in Zambia we have law that takes care of tax evaders and Fred is now dancing to the same. If in South Africa firms are allowed to invade taxes, here in Zambia we don’t allow that. Jim,you can cry your lungs out, nobody is going to listen to you and you are just too small to break the bond of frienship that exists between South Africa and Zambia for the sake of your criminal friend. The bond between Lusaka and Pretoria started long before you were  even conceived, so please leave us alone to sort out M’membe and his cohorts and this we shall do following the law.

Lungu’s tour of solwezi to speed up road works

Dear Editor,

The recent visit to Solwezi by President Edger Lungu will speed up works on the Chingola- Solwezi road.

The road has been in a very deplorable state for sometimes, but this time around we expect the contactors to do a good job as government has shown commitment at presidential level.

The Chingola – Solwezi road is a very important economic road that links North Western Province to other Provinces.

I wound also like to take this opportunity to commend the PF government under the able Leadership of President Lungu for declaring Chipata a city.

The new status will enhance development in the city.

Assaulting journalists in Chawama

Dear Editor ,

The alleged assaulting of ZNBC and MUVI TV reporters and camera man in Chawama is regrettable.

All peace loving Zambians should roundly condemn the unruly behaviour of some Chawama residents.

The journalists and the phamarcy body were simply carrying out a noble duty in Chawama.

The country is dotted with make shift drug stores operating without licenses and hence the need for the regulatory body to protect the consumers.

I am appealing to Lusaka Province police commissioner Mr Nelson Phiri to ensure the perpetrators of attacks on innocent journalists are brought to book as soon as possible.
