Envoy calls for unity in tourism

ZAMBIA’S High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga has called on Kenya and other African countries accredited to New Delhi to speak with one voice to attract tourism and trade for the African continent.

Ms Kapijimpanga said the mission in New Delhi would uphold the brotherly relations with Kenya in all matters that will benefit the people of Zambia and Kenya especially that they have strong bilateral ties and were members of both COMESA and the Great Lakes Region.

According to first secretary for press and tourism Bangwe Naviley, Ms Kapijimpanga said this when she called on Kenya High Commissioner to India Florence Weche.

Ms Kapijimpanga, who is also accredited to Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Maldives and Singapore, said it was gratifying that the two countries have maintained peace which was a pre-requisite for tourism and trade.

And Ms Weche said it was important for the two countries to tap into the 1.3 billion people of India to enhance tourism and trade in the two countries.
