LUSAKA Dynamos Football Club head coach Dan Kabwe says his desire is to win the 2018 MTN/FAZ Super League which is expected to resume in March.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Nation Sports in Lusaka, Kabwe who recently joined Lusaka Dynamos after dumping the Kitwe giants Power Dynamos said he has a good squad that can win him the local league title.

Kabwe expressed delight with Lusaka Dynamos management for having held on to their players including the 2017 MTN/FAZ Super League top scorer Chrispine Mugalu who had attracted a lot of interest from city rivals Zanaco Football Club and foreign clubs who were anxious to sign the Congolese attacker.

He reaffirmed his commitment to mentoring a strong squad which would compete fairly in the league.

Kabwe noted that competition would be stiff in the league as teams such as Zanaco and Zesco would also compete to win the local league title.

“Preparations for the new season are on course. We have to go for the league title it’s good that we haven’t lost any players, we still have last year’s league top scorer which is good because our objective is to win the league.

“It is a new challenge for me with new players but we have to go for it. It is not going to be easy but we are in the league to compete because everyone wants what we want which is to win the league.

Kabwe replaced the cool calm and collected former Lusaka Dynamos coach Patrick Phiri whose contract at the club was not renewed for failing to finish the 2017 MTN/FAZ Super League in the top four position.

Phiri led Lusaka Dynamos to finish on fifth position with 63 points, seven points behind Green Buffaloes who finished fourth and qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup tournament.
