THE Lusaka High Court has granted Patriotic Front (PF) expelled Roan member of Parliament an interim injunction restraining PF member Chanoda Ngwira from issuing any defamatory statements against him.

Mr Ngwira is expected to appear before court on February 19 2018 for an interparty hearing.

Mr Kambwili sued Mr Ngwira over alleged defamatory statements issued against him during a press conference held on October 6 2017 at Chrismar Hotel. Mr Kambwili said  those words  in their natural and ordinary meaning meant and were understood to mean that he was not deserving of his title as doctor as he acquired the same in a questionable manner.

He claimed that Mr Ngwira called him impotent, mentally challenged and a person who did not respect woman and was a danger to children.

Mr Kambwili stated that the words were false, malicious and defamatory and he had been severely injured by them.

Mr Kambwili asked the court to grant him an injunction restraining Mr Ngwira from uttering further false, malicious and defamatory statements against him or he will continue to utter the same or similar statements.
