PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu says his administration is determined to change the mind set towards tribalism among Zambians.

President Lungu said change of mind set and behaviour would help in fostering national unity and development.

In a speech read for him by Minister of Defence Davies Chama at this year’s Nc’wala Ceremony of the Ngoni people in Chipata yesterday, President Lungu also appealed to traditional leaders to work closely with Government to ensure national development.

He urged traditional leaders to ensure that they passed on the rich Zambian culture to future generations.

President Lungu said traditional ceremonies played an important role in the preservation of culture and tradition.

The Head of State said traditional ceremonies should be preserved because they had proved to be a unifying factor in the nation.

And Paramount Chief Mpezeni thanked Government for improving the welfare of his subjects.

However, Chief Mpezeni called on Government to address the challenges in the e-voucher system.

The Chief said this in a speech read for him by the chairperson of the 2018 Nc’wala national organising committee Bright Ngoma.
