NAKAMBALA Leopards’ stuttering performances in the MTN/FAZ premier league have seen the team being relegated to then lower division after winning first promotion to the elite league in 2013.

The Sugar Boys will next season play in the FAZ division One South after they were eliminated by Confederations cup bound envoys Zesco United who thrashed them 4-0 and 1-0 home and away respectively last week.

The team ended the season with a paltry 34 points out of 35 matches played, almost averaging a point in each of the games in this campaign and were joined by Mufulira Blackpool, Lusaka Tigers, and Lusaka Dynamos who also failed to swing out of relegation waters with Mufulira Blackpool coming out as tail-enders with only 12 points out of a possible 102.

Nakambala only managed to win eight times out of 34 games, drew 11 and lost 15 games on their way out of top-flight football leaving Southern Province only to be represented by Green Eagles who also survived the chop by a whisker after finishing two points above the drop-zone.
