THE Patriotic Front (PF) has dissolved its entire party structures in Bahati Constituency.

PF Mansa district information and publicity secretary, Obion Chipanta confirmed the development yesterday

Although Mr Chipanta could not state the reason for the decision, it is believed that the former party officials had been frustrating the ruling party in the area.

Mr Chipanta also announced that the ruling party had appointed Wisdom Mpelembe as new Bahati constituency chairman replacing Kasongo Mumba.

The PF has also named Melinda Mofya as constituency women’s league chairperson while Benjamin Chibombwe has taken up the position of youth chairperson.

Last year, Mr Chipanta told the Daily Nation that PF was in the process of self-cleansing.

Mr Chipanta explained that the exercise was aimed at flushing out elements that had stopped serving the interests of the party.

He said some PF officials were working against President Edgar Lungu in favour of former Foreign Affairs minister, Harry Kalaba, who is pursuing his presidential ambitions.
