The government has confirmed that the Danish government will not extradite former Zambia’s ambassador to the Untied States Attan Shansonga.
The extradition application which was argued by Mutembo Nchito, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) was dismissed in Danish courts for lacking merit.
A confidential letter has since been written to the Zambian government over the matter but government has refused to divulge the grounds on which the extradition was rejected.
Meanwhile Shansonga’s lawyers are in the process of suing the Zambian government for his detention in the Danish cells for close to seven weeks.
Mr Shansonga told the Daily Nation that it was embarrassing for the Zambia government to embark on a mission to discredit innocent Zambians.
He urged the current government to start acting in good faith to win international recognition.
The former ambassador has since advised institutions like the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and the DPP to stop lie and evidence fabrication in order to safe guides the lives of innocent Zambians.
