MAYOR of Lusaka, Miles Sampa who recently applied to re-contest his mayoral position on the PF ticket in the upcoming August 12 general elections has pulled out his application.
Mr Sampa who said he had foregone the idea of contesting as Member of Parliament because he did not want to abandon any section of the people of Lusaka, has suddenly u-turned and announced that he would contest the Matero Parliamentary seat.
He explained that the decision was arrived at after wider consultations with family members. “After further consultations with my wife, my mother, my children, my sisters, my brothers, my extended family and my friends, I wish to withdraw the aforementioned application forthwith,” Mr Sampa said. Accordingly, he added, please consider the application null and void hereon.
