NDC faction has no future – Kambwili

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

IGNORE the futureless National Democratic Congress (NDC) faction led by Joseph Akafumba and support me because my political decisions are well-calculated,  embattled president Chishimba Kambwili has appealed to all members.

Mr Kambwili described the Akafumba-led NDC as just a group of visionless officials who had no legal backing to do what they were doing.

He appealed to NDC members throughout the country to support him because his political decisions were well-calculated and intended to benefit the party.

“As your leader, every political decision I make is well-calculated and I hope you can support me and I can also support you in our quest to make Zambia a better place to live in.

“Forget about the Akafumba faction. Akafumba has no legal basis for doing what they are doing. Nifilya batila umusha afwa notwebo mukanwa. Elo kabili ulelila nabo tabamucema pakanwa,” Mr Kambwili said.

Mr Kambwili assured the NDC members that he would respect their wishes as they meet during the national convention to agree on the way forward.

He said for now, he has not yet made a decision of which direction to take as the country heads for the August 12 general elections.

“When we meet at the national convention, we shall discuss the way forward for NDC. I will respect the decision of the party. A lot has been said about Chishimba Kambwili going here, going there, but when we meet at the national convention we shall discuss the way forward and I will respect the wishes of the party,” Mr Kambwili said.
