‘M’membe has no moral right to talk about Lungu’

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

FRED M’membe should be the last person to talk about getting rid of President Edgar Lungu’s Government because his record as proprietor of the defunct Post Newspaper leaves much to be desired, former UPND deputy spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo has said.

Mr Lifwekelo said the damage that Dr M’membe caused to several innocent Zambians through his malicious editorials were so significant that no sane Zambian would trust him.

He added that Dr M’membe was a sadist who used the Post Newspaper to launch a full-throttle attacks on highly respected former Presidents out of personal envy.

He was reacting to sentiments by Dr M’membe that, “we can get rid of a Lungu, the same way we got rid of a Kaunda and Banda.”

But Mr Lifwekelo however said: “Fred M’membe should just shut up because he is, on moral grounds, one to start talking about getting rid of others when he is known to be a tax evader,” Mr Lifwekelo said.

“Remember, this is a man who was dedicated to publishing fake news and malicious articles against former Presidents like RB and FTJ because of his personal envy. He wanted to control all the Presidents using his paper but after failing to control President Lungu, he has been so bitter,” he said.

He said the Socialist Party leader thought he was a small god when he was in charge of the defunct Post Newspaper, further challenging him to explain his role in the Development Bank of Zambia loan debacle and his tax evasion case.
